Right. We know “best” and “2022” seems like the ultimate contradiction, but we actually aren’t complaining all that much. We see 2022 as a year of achievements and milestones that we’re quite proud of, so we’d like to start off 2023 with a recap and share some of our favourite highlights. Here’s The Best of 2022, from our perspective, and if you don’t agree you can pour yourself a glass of one of our released expressions and just get through it.
February – Ground Breaking Day
Our year had a legendary beginning on 18th February 2022, when we held our formal ground breaking ceremony. Starting in the early hours with some of us cementing in the foundation stone at 3 a.m., the day continued with another two ceremonies later in the morning.
We originally planned to have everyone present, but due to travel challenges, we ended up with a much smaller group of people. Reunion in 2023, anyone?

March – Joy Tan Joined Our Team
In March, we were pleased to announce that Joy Tan had joined our team, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge and experience across PR and Marketing. Click on the image below to read all about it.
May – We Ordered Our First Stills
Skipping forward to May, we placed an order with Forsyths in Scotland for our first set of stills. After a huge amount of time put into perfecting the design of our stills, we were happy to finally get the cheque book out and hand over the money. These were not cheap, but the quality they help us produce is going to be worth it.

September – We Signed an MOU to Secure More Land to Build a Cooperage
In a typically unconventional introduction to what was actually a big day for Nine Rivers Distillery, we announced the fact we had secured more land adjacent to our site, where we plan to build a cooperage. That’s right, we decided to make our own barrels. We’re not extra, we’re meticulous! Click on the ultra-professionaly photoshopped photograph below to read more.
December – Stuart MacPherson Joins the Team
Although not officially part of our team until 1st January 2023, the announcement was made before the end of 2022. We’re including Stuart on our list of The Best of 2022, because he really was an amazing gift at the end of the year.
